Ok so I think this is a great simple and easy way to clean and deodorize your washer, using household items.My poor washing machine desperately needed this I’m actually embarrassed to show the before picture,but knew with a little cleaning and time,hopefully will help get a few more years out of it! With simple upkeep,This is super simple all you will need is:
3 cups of white vinegar
1/4 cup Baking soda
1/4 cup warm water
Ok so I mixed the baking soda in the warm water to dissolve a bit and started my washing machine on as if to run a full cycle..on hot! I next poured the 3 cups of vinegar in as it filled I closed the lid let it agitate a little than I added the baking soda and let that agitate in. At this point you want to let it set for a while about 45 minutes to an hour, so while I waited I took out my old and trusty cleaning toothbrush and rag and began to clean all of the machine…using the water sitting in the tub this can easily be done. Using the toothbrush allowed me to be able to get into all of the hard to reach areas and in between and behind the lid and under the inner lip on the drum where all the nasty scum accumulates, causing Oder and bacteria. When done let the wash run the full cycle. Simple right, I hope you find this helpful!
